Coolamon – Life Source

Life Source is a representation of the Namoi river in Gunnedah and Mooki river in Breeza, with parallels to the Murrumbidgee river in ACT, particularly during the dry season. As a young child travelling back to Country, I always sensed a great connection to these stretches of water, particularly from hearing stories of my dad and my grandmother playing down by the river with their siblings, cousins and friends. The dryness but rich cultural landscape of my Country is depicted in the cracked earth that holds the river in a way that embodies why we need to care for our waterways that sustain life.

Artwork Information:

• Painted with acrylic on Ironbark. Sealed with 3 coats of lacquer.
• Display artefact only. It is recommended that nothing is placed directly the artwork.
• To clean, use a mildly damp cloth and gently wipe with a soft cloth.
• Colours may appear differently on your screen.
• Non-food safe.
